A German Favorite

Our family has enjoyed this simple, German style, dinner together ever since Andrew & I became Mr. & Mrs.. Theres no technical or fancy name for it, so we just roll with German Dinner.
You can use bratwurst, a large link sausage of various kinds, or ground spiced meats (think breakfast types).  It even works with a Chorizo! My personal favorite is a chicken sausage with apples and gouda cheese. Deelish!!!

We like to fry them up in a little EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil) until slightly carmelizing.
Add one can of sauerkraut, we prefer Frank's brand. Recently I used the sweet, Bavarian type. Add this undrained.
Let this steam for a while until slightly softened and stir lightly to combine.

Add a large bunch of freshly washed and stemmed kale greens. One can also substitute mustard greens or even spinach as preferred. Let these steam for about 5 mins. Add 1-3 cloves of finely chopped fresh garlic, lightly sprinkle with salt and pepper, and 4-8 dried red pepper flakes.

Eat it. All of it. Youll thank me later. Andrew adds that a good, authentic German beer always helps things along too!

Happy Eatin!!!

It's Been A While........

Hello everyone!
Ok. Ok. So it's been a while. Okay, a long time since my last post. Life got really busy with three little boys and a husband and a home and friends and family and fellowship and all sorts of wild stuff. I hope to be more diligent in posting more frequently. So we'll just start out simple for this first post in the new year of 2015. Leave me lots of comments, questions and suggestions for new postings or what you would like to know or recipes you'd like to see.

Happy Cooking!!!
